Hi everyone, You will be hearing from me quite a lot in coming months, as I have purchased a Beachcomber (lookalike) which is very solid (Galvanised bottom) but needs lots of little jobs doing to make it really nice. First job is to chisel out that nasty hardened black soundproofing stuff in the dashboard area which is all bent and cracked. Are there any modern easy to fit alternatives available to put in it's place? Thanks in advance for suggestions and Happy Easter Paul |

I was sure it was - but a quick check on ECAS's site shows it's "not currently available". Matt's Softtops don't seem to list it, either. Your best bet's probably to get something like http://www.woolies-trim.co.uk/c-127-hardura.aspx and DIY it. You could put some extra sound-deadener behind it, but I'm not sure I'd bother - let's face it, a 2cv is NEVER going to be quiet, no matter what you do. Make sure you've got plenty of cardboard for templates... The dark blue should look quite decent in a Beachie. Woolies are happy sending samples, so you can have a look-see before buying. |
