Post door cards
so with my plans to get the seats re done in the future, im thinking of re doing the door cards.
im thinking of re doing them in white (trying to keep a red and white theme going through my car you see) as i think if i had them red it would look to red in the car.
im thinking of doing it in red vinyl leather, or white vinyl leather, but its quite expensive, what sorts of other materials could i use? or could i even spray (seen it on wheeler dealers) the old black material the colour i want?

:)

Why not put carpet on your door cards... it's a better place for it than the floor! :P :D f

Take no notice of them James. Just give Laurence-llewelyn-Bowen a ring, he'll sort you out.

He only asked...

Anyways, James, you can get spray paint especially for vinyl. Often used for recolouring vinyl seats, etc, so I guess it must be pretty durable. Don't know what it's called, but should be possible to track down using t'net.

I remember an old Polski Fiat our family had many moons ago; the whole dashboard area was a nasty glossy black which contrasted dramatically with the superb quality of the rest of the vehicle. I sprayed it mid grey using ordinary cellulose paint from an aerosol can. Worked fine - didn't peel or react, but I guess it wouldn't cope with being scuffed (car fell apart long before I found out...).

No harm in trying a test spray, but obviously recovering with vinyl would be better. I'm sure you can find a cheaper source of vinyl if you look around locally and on t'net.

I re-did my door cards with black leatherette vinyl over sponge sheeting. It looks and feels fantastic. Whole job cost me about £20.
