Does anyone have, or is there somewhere a pattern giving the measurements of the sort of grille muff used for a 3 bar? I'd like to make one to match the car but I'd only be guessing the size and shape. Also how did the originals hold on?

Have one, at my parents house.
Can ask my parents if they want to dig it up for me.
Will be saturday, if they can find it, before I get it here.

O-N, when you bought the new hood for your car, did you have a loose piece of the fabric(left over from the rear window)? You could use that cut to size/shape. You could buy some tent eyelets (see link) and some small bungee cords with T ends(just need to locate them).

Old-Nail,
only picture I could find is from Matt's Soft Tops, under 'products'.

Iirc, there are small metal clips riveted to the muff which hook into slots pressed into the edge of the grille, however pattern parts may not include that detail, so some improvisation would be needed.

Cable ties it is then Ken, thanks.

Hey Jonathon all this mentalism I'm studying must be working as that's exactly the thing I wanted to hear. Excellent idea, so good in fact that I'm gonna' tell people it was mine. :D

I'll use that spare bit from the window cut out when I get hold of some sort of measurements for making it.

Like this, pic shows it upside down. They have elastic to hook over the end part of the bars , and 3 hooks ,1 top and two bottom . These repros are a bit loose compared to the original ,well in my experience of one of both anyway :P Still nice quality though.

Top is modern repro, the bottom is original Citroen. As you can see they differ; reverse engineering a grille muff appears to be challenging

And here is one installed. I think the fact that when someone says grille muff my immediate thought is "I have some photos of that" may be indicative of the fact that I need to get out more
