Can someone tell me what is supposed to go into this hole on right side of tranny?

theres a few bits like that on the 2cv, makes you ask"whats that all about then"

(its usually a leftover from the machining process and that one is where they drilled the horizontal passage for the detant balls in the selector rod mechanisim theres a slotted screw plug blanking the bottom...ill get my anorack)
