so after fitting the tow bar, i thought i shouod really wire in the eltrics as i havent bothered yet. so ive got thsi diagram printed out  now shall i wire it in at the back in the light panel? is the wires to there thick enough to cope with the exta load? or shall i go up to the bulkhead up front?? merci

Mines wired in to the wiring behind the left hand rear light with scotch clips. Never had any problems. Although all the lights on my trailer board and bot box are LED so the extra load is minimal |

light emiiting diode, sounds interesting, never seen tailer boards with them on! i was thinking of "breaking into the loom, do you not find that the lights on the left are slightly dimmer ? (although saying that if there led's!) |

It's always seemed ok. I've got LED bulbs in the rear light fittings too tho |

Into the loom at the rear lights is your best option. Why use more wire than you have to? |

Or if you're really doing a proper job, solder everything together and wrap it in heat shrink tubing. But by far the easiest way to do it is as Adrian suggests, just insert the bare ends of the towbar wires into the bullet connectors at the rear lights. Should take you about ten minutes. |

I was thinking of something slightly less butcher-like... <grin> Instead of just putting a male bullet on the end of the towbar lead, put a second wire into the male bullet, cut that off to an inch or two long, and put a female bullet on the other end. Break the connection to the light, and insert the short flying lead section into it. |
