Can anyone tell me what the switch on the dash above the wiper switch is for.
Googled it but no luck.
Thanks.

This one?

That's to check if the brake-fluid-warning light works. If you press it, and a red light goes on, the light works.
If the light doesn't show, you need to check the brakefluid, or the wiring to the brakefluidreservoir.

If? the switch does'nt work [ie,makes the red light come on on yer dash] .....check the sender.
It's that little "tit" button thingy in the centre of your brake fluid res. cap.
It should illuminate the red light on on your dash when pressed down.

Nahh :geek: .....[on a RHD car] its possible to reach the top of the res. with your right hand whilst looking through the [open] car window to see if the light is working.
I know this ;) .....because the switch has never worked on my [1988] car from it being new.
I dunno if its poss with a Club or Charleston type dashboard [I cant recall where the light is on the dash] .....but its also possible with a Dyane.
btw .....any drum brakers reading this ....ferget it .....AFAIK,only the disc [LHM] braked cars had it fitted.

Same position, right hand of the dash. It'd be a bit more tricky on a LHD car.

My '78 2cv6 (effectively a Club) certainly did. I think it came in with the dual-circuit brakes.

just place something like a socket, a spark plug, half brick or whatever comes to hand, on top of the lid and mosey on round and then you can see its working without resorting to contortions
