Damaged 2cv 50s model. Old original chassis vs. reproduction, owner said original. Found a donor 2cv, chassis looked very good. No wonder, the French sure knows how to cover rust. This chassis was covered in fibreglass and painted. Looked fantastic but, bloody hell I hate shit jobs like these Decided to repair the chassis no mater the cost and time. Gasless welding is not pretty, so ignore that Attachment: P709.JPG Attachment: P7090561.JPG Attachment: P712056.JPG Attachment: P7130563.JPG Attachment: P7130564.JPG Attachment: P8080592.JPG Attachment: P8080593.JPG Attachment: P8080596.JPG Attachment: P8080597.JPG |

Nice work. Having repaired a chassis now I'm not completely against it as I was, but I will say, the only way to do it is to make a whole new skin as you have done, I cut holes in mine, repaired the damage and welded them closed, not the easiest way. Looks like that shell needs a bit of work too, I guess the engine and box are scrap now too? |

Silly me, I did the front top plate first before spotting the rear inside section Ya, engine and gear box KAPUT. The gear box smashed in to the master cylinder and punched a hole in it. Body is not to bad, just the lower firewall, parcel shelf etc. Attachment: P7140575.JPG Attachment: P709055.JPG |

This is a picture of the inside of the chassis from my 1968 Dyane D6. It only needed at new top plate and closing a couple of small holes in the rear horns ![]() |
