ive noticed a few 2cv;s without the "standard" black fan, is it possible to simply spray the fan (after doing the obvious preps) and for it to be ok? i really want to go for the old multicolour fan, going with red and white, 4 different like stripes, who knows what itll look like when she spins, am i being crazy or has someone else painted the fan suggestions and opinions please ![]() |

Jameswallace wrote: how do you remove that black thing the fan sits in? The cowlings? You really want to take the lot off, else just painting the front cowling would look silly. (Unless you've got rubber side cowlings, of course, but they really need binning in favour of tin ones for engine-health reasons as well as cosmetics) You need to get the manifold off for the upper side-pieces. There's two small bolts holding the lower ones to the underside of the heads. Then it's just self-tappers everywhere. Alternator belt off, then to get the fan cowling off, you'll need to take the engine mounts off - even if the engine's in the car. Trolley jack under the sump's good enough. |
