Just wondering whether anyone would happen to have an oil feed pipe assembly to hand to give me some measurements? Just after the dimensions of the banjo unions and bolts used really. I'm not 100% sure mine is leaking yet, but I should have a chance to have a look at the weekend, and I'm just wanting to check out some options!

No sizes to hand here, but I only became aware at the weekend that the bolt into the block has a bigger hol than the two at the heads, make sure you don't get them mixed up.

banjo bolts are m7
the smaller holed ones go on the heads and are .6mm, or there abouts. The crankcase one is about 2mm.

And be VERY CAREFUL when tightening the bolts into the cylinder heads as they strip out very easily - have an appropriate helicoil kit close by cos these buggers leak like fook even when you think you have not overtightened them or stripped the thread. I remember the first time I rebuilt Dudleys engine and there I was thinking I had got the new barrels and pistons together nicely and torqued everything up and went to put the feeds back on to the head.....there I was tightening the nut up, with the double brass seal in the right place and everything, and I started seeing a nice little piece of aluminium swarf coming back around the bolt....buggerit!

yup i always anneal the copper washers before use to get them nice and soft

dont heed the torque figures in the manuals as thats for a dry bolt in a new thread, a lubed bolt torqued to the same figure exerts more pull

and whats the big plan for the oil feed then Luke?

No big plan at all as yet! Just looking at potentially cheaper ways of sorting it out if it's the reason the Dyane keeps marking its territory at work!

It could well be that the pipe is leaking at the nut on the cylinder head rather than the pipe itself - this usually manifests itself by oil dripping down the bottom of the cylinder shrouds and onto the chassis rails. Another common oil leak is through old spectacle seals and you can usually see this easily under the engine with oil dripping down the side of the block. SSD
