I have been told that I need 2 new wheels and 2 tyres, from the ecas site I see that this will cost £200

Is that about what I should expect?

Thanks.

Justin

Justin, I assume you 'need' wheels because the seams have blown out a bit with rust? Any chance you can pm me with sone photos of them? I'm pretty sure I can find you a set of wheels and Tyres in Norfolk for less than £200.

Follow Russ' advice Justin, there's lots of people with lots of ok wheels around. Brand new ones are a luxury (insurance paid for mine or I'd have kept my old ones)

"new" and "cheapish" don't go together :?

But you could probably find some ok-ish ones second hand. Thing is, if theres' any rust on the seam there's no real point wasting your money.

I've literally just been through this. Went for new ones

That's what I got, but got Roy to do them in white for me, only cost an extra £15 or something.

There's a thread somewhere about rust proofing wheels - I hammerited mine on the inside, doing lots of coats on the seams, and then heated then seems with a hair dryer and poured in waxoyl. You never know - it might prolong them a bit!

a set of 5 on ebay, bit risky though. but you do get some tyres (again risky)
