I can remember reading a post somwhere in the past about the end of this being able to snap off if wound in to far! The reason for asking is taking 2 spare carbs apart this eve and the screws both seem to taper inwards towards the end but not to a total needle point and just wonderd if this was correct or if these have been broken in the past!?

Some needles can have quite flat ends, it varies - could not explain which carbs have which!

Probably me and not necessarily gospel! :?
My experience of Solex on VW was that if you screwed the needle fullly home it dammaged the needle ...and so this caution has carried over to the light side of solex fitted boxers

its bad form to force the needle fully in to its seat given that its a steel needle

personally id pick the pointyest one and go with that
