Can anybody tell me what kind/size of thread the attachment bolt is please?

I have a pair of 2CV mirrors that I want to attach to the Bedouin doors and I have the big bolts together with the internal screw that fits from the other side of the door but I need to fabricate an internal nut/plate arrangement to fix it to.

Bertie,
went a bit off-topic there, but couldn't resist it.
Anyhow, now that I've finished sorting that engine and found a door mirror screw, it would appear that they're 1.25 pitch.

Don't you have any thread gauges in that workshop?

Or is all that hitech flying gear still using Whitworth and tpi...

ken.

( and if you dont have a screw gauge and neither does the RAF.. dont let Ken know but just open the box of taps, find one that has the same pitch, lay along side the screw like a screw gauge to check- it should mesh perfick, and then read the tap... our little secret ;) )

Ken, Sean - I took a wander down to our General Workshop stores this morning and they let me look through what they had but either they were out of stock or nothing fitted, metric or otherwise. Now I know what pitch they are I can ask in my hardware store.

OK then, pardon me for speaking. It's an M10x1.25 pitch ISO Metric PHYNE thread then? No, I couldn't find my thread gauges either but I guess they would have been in TPIs.

I didn't realise it's a part and might end up ordering a couple but I'd have to adapt them anyway & could easily make one if I had the nuts!!
