Hi and welcome to the Forum, feel free to show us some pictures of your duck!

I'm afraid I don't know the answer, my car also does this though!

Could be that two of the wires are the wrong way around. The wiper motor has a wire from the switch and also a permanent live wire, if these two are back to front the wipers will be permanently on. Is that what is happening?

If the cables are fine, may be the spring that stops the rotor. Try changing its position to one harder.

Could it be the wiper motor housing working loose and making a live connection .Recently had to tighten up mine as I was having similar problems - not switching off, or intermittently coming on without using the switch.

There are 3 wires going into the motor, one is permanent 12V when ignition is on, this one brings the wipers home when you switch it off.
Somethimes the wire stays connect and the wiper is going on and on with a click.
When tou take this wire off the wiper stops imediatly when you put the switch off,
it then is a sort of game to put the wiper off in the right position.
By the way my Ami 6 from 1963 has only 2 wires so you have to do it like this anyway!!!
