OK, there was some talk about LPG conversions in another topic (2cv camping) and we were challenged to start the subject here.
My ugly duck has been running on LPG for 12 years, without problems.
It consumes from 6 to 8 litres every 100kms. Is that the usual consumption?

I'm sorry but am I missing the point here? Why would anyone want to fart about converting an A series to run on LPG? The true cost of a conversion kit and the reduced power and mpg gained from LPG surely make it a non starter in the first instance? Sure, if you have a gas guzzling V8 Range Rover, it makes a lot of sense but a car that does 50mpg anyway, and with the reduced lubrication that LPG gas brings with it, plus the tank and reduced boot space etc.. the risk and cost is just not worth it...discuss!

I used to drive about 50 000 km every year with my 2cv. Here Benzine costs a lot more than LPG. If you can fill your tank for € 15,- instead of € 40,-...... there is a point....

and of course, the tank only took the space of the spare wheel that moved to the hood.

OK, if you drive just a few kms obviously it doesn't make sense.
But I made this conversion 12 years ago and I can assure you I've got the money back several times.
Here the LPG is 0.65 and the 98 oct. petrol 1.43.
There is a big difference. Besides LPG is supposed not to be so polluting...

If anyone who has made a conversion could produce a detailed how to, perhaps with a list of required parts so one could start scouring fleabay with a view to doing a conversion over the summer, it would be awesome.

I've turbo'd a 2cv on LPG look at my topic.

viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1100

I've installed a free programmable ECU with 2 LPG injectors.
Without turbo the car is equal to a standard 2 2cv but LPG is much cheaper.

With turbo it does 60+ hp but millage is then 1 liter LPG for 8km........

By the way the car runs only on LPG, not on Petrol (for now)
