I've just put my heat exchangers back after a clean up & repaint. Is there a knack to adjusting the cables? I only had a quick play before the batteries died in my head torch.

I found it took almost a whole tin of WD40 before they would adjust in a meaningful manner. Apparently a 50:50 mix of acetone and automatic transmission fluid does the job better.

Neil,
if it's just setting the 'open and closed' positions, adjusting the side connected to the dash cable first, then the 'slave' side afterwards should work.

If the cables are stiff, there's no substitute for stripping, straightening the inner bowden cable where some pl~nk*r has kinked it, greasing and reassembling the cable.

LHD Dyane/Acadiane should be fine without a return spring, which I usually add on RHD Dyanes because there's too tight a turn in the cable.

i stripped the inner cable out & staightened the many kinks, clean, greased & replaced. Adjusted up a treat & now the sliding action of the heater control is easy & smooth.

cheers.
