Post Info on Ami 6 gearbox and Panhard 848cm3 combo
Hello!

Since I received AMZ-848 license plates for my Ami I've been thinking...

Anyone with experience in the Ami 6 gearbox & Panhard 848cm3 combination? Wasn't this combo used in the first MEP racecars?

How hard/easy would it be to fit a Panhard motor with the Ami gearbox? What kind of modifications would be needed?

Really all info and discussion is welcome.. I haven't found much on this topic on any of the forums.

Think your biggest problem, is finding a Panhard engine. Rocking horse s**t would be easier to find.

There was an article in 2cvgb news some years back about a guy who had put a Panhard motor in his 2cv, it was a white car, that's about all I can remember. Theoretically I've got a copy of it somewhere, and if I knew when it was then I would know where to look. Maybe Neil knows when it was off the top of his head?

I remember that too, it had an adaptor plate made up when they were developing the MEP racers, but I can't remember what else it had. I seem to remember it was a later gearbox though.

It would make a nice car, I hope you can do it.
