Having obsessed over 3cvs and the IES cars, and seen this in the cool 2cvs thread:

Can any 2cv be converted to use a Dyane boot lid (presuming that is a Dyane boot lid) and is it hard/practical to do?

Although I suppose it means you can't use a boot extension so it's probably not something I'd do.

Just wondered lol.

BTW I love the boot lock

The outer skin of the boot lid isn't the same as a Dyane - the 3cv has three distinct ribs, where as the Dyane doesn't. whether or not the inners are the same or whether they'd fit a 2cv, i couldn't tell you.

the hatchback conversion works just the same but just uses the roof

i doubt they are the same as dyane ones as look at the curve on that back edge of boot on the argentine cars.

Dyanes are virtually flat.

Unless thay just bent them :)

Some "bodgery" would be required,as the Dyane rear door is quite heavy, and the 2CV only has a thin bar over the rear window ....the bar would need strengthening and pin hinges welding into it.
And then the problem of where the Dyane roof finishes .....the 2CV roof extends to the top of the bootlid .....or maybe a Dyane roof would fit the 2CV [in fact,IIRC,the OE Dyane roof has the stronger bar fitted, complete with "pin hinges" ]
I have got an old Dyane bootlid in my lock-up .....the only prob is that its well & truly "snowed in" atm.

I'm sure it could be done by cutting the roof/boot support off a dyane and fitting it to a 2cv, I wonder jf a dyane roof woul fit or if it'd need to be shortened?

A Dyane bootlid will not fit a 2CV straight off. I'm sure that if you really wanted to, you could make it fit though.

do they have an ecas type company in argentina? and would a 3cv boot and roof fit a 2cv? :) surely thats easier than bodging up a 2cv and a dyane boot!

I'm guessing they must do, as half the stuff ecas sell is Argentinian isn't it?
