 Re: White wall tyres
Here's the problem with Frome chassis: On the level, it was about this high... There are ways round it though. harder springs and stiffer shocks with turned arms will sort out the crashing into the road issue, it's just speed bumps and stuff you'll hit, which aren't that damaging.

 Re: White wall tyres
On the subject of lowering, I'd like to lower mine soon... Not hugely slammed, but alot lower than it is now. Mines on a 2cv city chassis. I've heard that they arent particularly strong and I know the rear shock mounts are one of their weaker spots... If I do it, am I just going to destroy it? Has anyone had expierience with lowering on these chassis'?

 Re: White wall tyres
Not lowered a 2cv city chassis, the problem is the rear shockers use bolts instead of studs like a citroen chassis, and the shockers end up bolted on at some funny angles, at least, I'm sure that doesn't help. The 2cv city chassis break at the front kick up, so it'd probably help to weld some extra strength into that too. if you're just going down a bit (say, 100mm max) then I'm not sure you're in any danger of doing damage to the chassis.

 Re: White wall tyres
I think Frome chassis use bolts rather than studs for the shocks as well don't they?

 Re: White wall tyres
They do, but I'm not aware of them breaking off quite as regularly as 2cv city chassis do.

 Re: White wall tyres
well, im leaving it for a few days for the the shocks and tie rod thread etc to ease up with some wd40. ill lower it during the week, and if its not for me then i can always bring it back up again. also, my drive is pretty steep so i wont be able to go all that low anyway. thanks for the input Russel. you are a big help!

On my racer (the shock mounts are in a different place-higher up) chassis, the threads had just stripped and I ended up using nuts and bolts.
