setting the points is a 2 minute job, its so easy, once youve done it once itll take you 2 minutes, obviously the timing will then need doing, but that again doesnt take long at all! the only painful bit to doing the points is getting the fan off, ive mastered this, i have the nack ;)
my trick is to et my 14mm socket on the end of my 3/8ths extender bar, and position it in 4 different positions, for example north east south and west, and give it a good tap with the hammer in each position, and i keep hitting going round until eventually ping, of it comes, works every time!

It's just unfortunate the rest of the board wastes 156 man hours talking you through 2 minutes of work. It's a bit like a crossword puzzle. A few hours work to compile, set and print in a newspaper. Thousands of hours wasted as people try to solve it

Learn!

Sure but some don't want to learn and/or need the garage to do it.

quite, but it doesnt do any harm, helpful for other people at the same time, and also sometimes reading things in type isnt as easy as someone telling you how to do it in front of a 2cv, thats probably why iget confused so easily when trying to depict what people are tellnig me to do, never mind!

I'd go for 123.

I fitted 123 to the 4x4 and its been ace.

Waterproofed it as well and I''ve had it under water and it still works.

It's survived Raid Laponie and Raid Poronkusema and started the 2CV at -25c

Current unit has been on the car about 8 years and I've had no issues with it in the 70 thousand miles it's done.

No. 123 is just a single unit, with its sensors built in, that bolts to the front of the engine where the points box should go.
