That is EDF blue, it was one of the colours unique to the French utilities. The local paint factors had it though when I re painted it. Citroen code is AC 615



That is on a a big simple corps carb. I have no idea what it is actually off as it had it on when I got the van from France. It had a blown engine (M4) which I replaced with an AMI 6 engine. The engine I bought still had it original oil filler and I had to swap it as it matched the air filter assembly. The breather hose from the reniflard to the air filter box came out at a different angle from the one on the AMI engine.

Sam - Just be careful when torqueing up the oil feed to the head - it is oh so easy to strip the thread in the block and then its out with the helicoil kit - I know from bitter experience!

So, took the front gubbins off and re tightened the oil feed pipe which clearly needed it. Also bodged up a breather oil dump.



Also cleaned everything up with some gunk then sprayed it all down so it was clean a) to work with and b) to see where everything was.

Went for a test drive and stopped after a mile or so to check. All good. Went up to the trunk road and did a 3 mile pootle at about 50. Got home and AGAIN there was a little oil spattered over the bulkhead and the right hand drum brake looked wet.

There was clean oil below the carb which is weird as I haven't topped it up for a couple of days.

I've cleaned everything up again.

Could there still be oil around that's still spattering out or is it likely its something else?

Wonder if its just the fan and flywheel chucking it everywhere. Just before i bought my azu they had had the breather pipe drop off on a trip and it took me ages to finally get rid of all the oil while thinking something was wrong . If it were me i would just keep monitoring it ,cleaning it up and checking the oil level..which i suppose you're going to do anyway

Not seen an m4 in flesh but oil cooler leaking maybe???

I checked it over, its dead clean, seemed ok

I would personally take it for a good thrash. Take wings off fan etc and have a good inspection ???

One of the threads holding the oil filler in has sheared its thread so I'll heilicoil it this weekend. I've temporarily bodged it with bathroom sealant which isnt proving very effective but is reducing the splash a little.

That isn't an M4 oil filler is it? That looks like it came off a 425 or a 375.
