You could have taken a picture of my stuff its identical !

have mastered the art of standing on the end of the breaker bar and clouting the socket with a hammer at the same time- for that i use the bigger hammer thats not in your picture ;)

I've had a look in the workshop manual, and it seems as these should only be tightened with 35-40 Nm,greased threads.


Just remember an axel stand to support the swing arm. 35-40 kg pushing downwards can damage the swing arm stop

Found this die in the US. Not cheap but lovely to have and use. Threadfiles are ok but fiddly to work with, they work better on inside threads like drum bearing ríng nuts etc.

Thread files don't work on internal threads at all, the splines run in the wrong direction. Nor for that matter are they "fiddly" to use.

If you want to mildly re shape an internal thread you need a thread chaser.

How do you clean the thread on rear drums then (ring nut thread holding the wheel bearing)

Well I use a thread file to ''repair'' a buggered thread front or rear wheel bearing ring nut thread.
