 Re: Radio wiring
Ok so I've had this CD player since Xmas and done very little about installing it. So to celebrate Easter I have now started installation. I have decided to leave those scotblocks well alone, so have bundled the wires coming off them neatly away under the dash. So aerial is mounted using the previous hole left here, had to enlarge the hole with my trusty round file. I have mounted the shelf and speakers. Here you can see where I am taking the live through the bulkhead to the battery, Wallace style Now question: Does this bolt holding the heater slider look like a decent place to run my earth/ground wire? Here is my ISO block from Halfords, don't need half the wires coming off it but it is nicely labelled for an electrical dunce like me. And finally, here we have my splash proof fuse box with 15amp fuse inside, ready to ring up to the positive terminal. Please say now if this looks wrong So there will only be a positive feed straight to the battery, nowt else, just simple.

 Re: Radio wiring
Looking good..err somone here may correct me/us....but 15amp fuse I reckon is a bit too heavy for a CD....dont know what others think....but I might go a bit lower.

Using a 15amp as the CD already has a 15 in the back of it, so assumed that is what it needs. I'm putting the fuse box as close to the battery as possible, all it the name of safety

 Re: Radio wiring
Got my front two speakers initially, will add some more box speakers under the seats later on if all goes well.

 Re: Radio wiring

Thanks James. Could not find the heat shrinkers in Maplins and had picked up the block connectors a while ago. Yep through the bulkhead above the battery with the live feed, only just enough room to squeak it through. I hope to do the final connecting and the big switch on (or blow up) this weekend

 Re: Radio wiring
Apart from a small spark as I reconnected the battery earth cable, which I assume is normal? All is now wired up and working. Taken for test run and already I'm thinking of a little more meat to my sound system, a set of rear speaker methinks But where could that lead to?
