am i correct, there are two bolts per corner? look about 13mm?
mine are plastered in wax oil, so hopefully not to rusted

The axle bolts are the two bolts each corner that hold the axle on. 17mm head I think. Irrelevant how much waxoyl is on the head because the thread which will be rusty will have been hidden away in the axle for 25 years.

Best way to ensure they don't sieze is to slam the car, then the heads will wear down every few hundred miles and you'll have to change them. They never get the chance to seize.

It's well worth doing, and to the correct torque. Do them one at a time.

My 5¢ ...

Some of the symptoms from people in this thread sound to me a little like a problem with the back of the gearbox to front axel mounting plate - if the rubber on this mount is on the way out the metal bits can strike each other when accelerating or braking as the whole engine and gearbox assembly is rotating around the front mounts.

i get it when turning too, and braking, and sometimes it sounds from one side the other side
