12.—(1) Save as provided in paragraph (2), no person shall use, or cause or permit to be used, on a road any vehicle to which, or to any load or equipment of which, there is fitted a lamp, reflector or marking which is capable of being moved by swivelling, deflecting or otherwise while the vehicle is in motion.
(2) Paragraph (1) does not apply in respect of-
(f) a work lamp;

Re: Front spot light If I've read all the legal-ese right that means that you can have a single fog lamp, but if your car was registered after 1986? the lamp needs to have an approval mark of some sort. So does that then rule out buying a 'classic' lamp of ebay, which is what I'd have done?
