Too be fair, A series steering is not that heavy, compared to, say, a go-kart, but does tend to be at low speeds. A healthy, regular, dosing of grease in the kingpins does certainly help though. 2CV's will happily run on normal unleaded in my experience, only pinking if timing is not correct.

How on earth are you making it understeer then?

The responses are coming too thick and fast for me to reply individually to each, so thanks to you all; this is how a forum should be. :)

Sean, I'll certainly take you up on your offer. I'll try to remember how to PM (I've done it before, but it was a long time ago). I'd like a second opinion on the car I've bought as I've got nothing to compare it with. Except the Ka, (which I've now sold) and that probably wouldn't have been a fair comparison.

TTFN,

John

HI John,

Was it advertised on the 2cv City website? I see they've sold a blue one and a red one recently.

I wouldn't say running super is worth the extra expense. 95 does me fine, have used 91 & 98 with no appreciable difference in performance or economy. Grease king pins & drive shafts regularly. Some steering racks are heavier than others due to ratios i think, but a late 2CV should be nice and light. Not power steering light, bit not popeye heavy either.
