Ages ago I mounted a set of speakers on the roof posts with self tapping screws. The wiring followed the channels and was taped over. They were like a large pair of earphones and the base shook the roof.

Sounds like a great idea, Ray
I've got them also on the top side of the front doors (my front doors open to the front). They should work as headphones but even on that position, if you're driving above 75Kms/h it is impossible to hear comfortably, I guess... :?

Ta, chaps! I think the current plan is to purchase 4 4" speakers from Maplin, buy some 4" soil pipe (thanks, Sam!) from B&Q, and make "pods" to go on each of the doors.

It's been requested that the whole lot be ready by Friday lunchtime, in time to go down to Cornwall in it, but given that all I've got so far is a stereo with an ISO connector on it (and I forgot to order the other end for it to plug into!), I'm not convinced this is going to happen..!

Made these up the other day.

Not very pretty, but work a treat. I have a couple of others tucked under the dash and wanted something in the back.

Problem is I never have rear seat in the Bamboo as it is a "working, load carrying" vehicle.....ie full of junk ! Therefore needed to get rear speakers out of the way.

Just chopped a bit of ply up and made a rough box, covered it in some cloth and fixed it in place with a couple of six inch nails....sorry, I mean discreat self tapping screws !

Great sound though....good job I dont have a rear seat as bit close to the ears for anyone sitting on it !

Post Re: mounting speakers
It's curious how we all look for similar solutions to the problem of listening to music in our 2CVs. :o
My speakers are mounted the very same way - the difference is I didn't do it so perfect.
This solution doesn´t solve the problem of the noise coming from the engine...
Hope electric engines, and not so heavy batteries, solve this problem soon...
