 Fuel Tank I have just discovered a considerable fuel leak coming from the tank on my 82 2cv. It seems to come from the top of the tank(plastic) and drains down the side. My first thought was cracked tank. But then i thought most likely the rubber connecting hose to the sender unit is rotten. Is there any way i can replace this tube without dropping the tank or is it best to drop the tank and check everything. (It's one job i don't like doing). Your advice will be appreciated..thanks.

it is the top and not the filler neck joint?

Re: Fuel Tank dropping the tank is peace of cake. Drive your tank dry and drop your tank then,
try to plan it that it happens close to your garage and not at the M1!!!
You can take the fuellhose at the front of the chassis where it go's up to the fuellpump and let all the fuell out, try to catch it in a can........... then you don't need to run it dry.......

Angle grinder. Cut a chunk out of the boot floor, then nice easy access to the top of the fastener. Except I managed to take a chunk out of the fuel tank, too, with the grinder... That was when he told me that it still had half a tank of petrol in.
