could you weld a plate to protect the tank/s

Re: auxialliray fuel tank No, although I have battered them into the road before. Welding a plate under it is a daft idea as on most late 2cvs there's no way of getting to the top of the tank to remove or repair the sender unit. On a 2cv you have to drop the tank to get to it. A bolt on plate would be better. They are mandatory (I think) for the 2cv racing club.

Re: auxialliray fuel tank ahh didnt realise you had to drop tank out, although thiking about it the boot floor isnt really that removable !
