When you say "Non Replaceable", do you mean the HT leads are "meant" to "last forever"? Or do you mean that once they are knackered, you can't find replacements, unless you pay ECAS another £77 for a complete leads & Harley coil? :?

Post Re: 123 ignition + coil
I also run a Yellow (named after me) Coil down under, with 123 ignition.

I to never got any luv from the points box, my 2cv is my daily driver with many 5-8hr stints between cities at WOT which would usually end with the car running like a warm turd the next day, points needing adjusting and/or condenser needing replacing. Also the lobes on my cam seemed out, static timing was always different from one cylinder to the next...

123 ignition was easily the best investment that i made for my 2cv. Apart from the controversial benefits listed on 123 website one the nicer, less mentioned, abilities is that when the ignition is left on the coil will not be drawing current until the starter is fired, (i don't understand the voodoo going on here) This means your coil wont overheat and not work if the ignition is left on. I run a switch + button start, so this is good to play the stereo when car not running, or i leave the switch on after checking something and forget it b4 running late for work...

Harley,
disregarding the traditional/fully electronic side of things, don't forget that the alternator is also energised when the ignition circuit is 'live', so it might be better not having your ICE fed from the ignition circuit... :?:

Good point, I should have been clearer  .

Although I know nothing of the Yellow Supercoil's leads (well I do NOW, but not then...) many of the dry resin sets sold on ebay and also the version which Boyer Bransden tried to flog me have permanently affixed copper leads. The suppliers' arguments that "they're copper cored, last forever" is hogwash as the insulation is every bit as important as the core and does break down over time. But it is true that they can still last a very long while.

Very encouraged to learn that Bougies will fit the Soopah, thanks terpineol 8-)
