Post Re: Front windows
I just let the window rest on top of the rear-view mirror. Like this:

Simple enough for you? ;)

I also have the wire-thing. Old ones I guess, they was already there when I got the car. And they are EASY to use, not in the way when parking (not the way I'm driving anyway :?: ), no rattling and holds a firm grip on the window until I decide to disengage them. Working perfectly. Disengage in a second, engage in two. No one can seriously say this thing takes up space or are in the way when driving?

So, in my 2CV GrandTurismo(wire thing is an luxury-option) I have 4 positions of the window!

1- Held a bit open by elbow. For rainy cold days in city-speed.
2- Held open by wire-thing. For cold days.
3- Held open by door mirror. My most used position. For that alround use.
4- Fully open. For those warm days or hooning in town.

What a luxury-car......such advanced windows 8-)

These are a decent alternative - i bought them at Rochefort a couple of years ago:

they are carved out to fit the profile of the door when the window's open. It has the advantage over the wire clip in that you can position it wherever you want & it's 'adjustable' to a point; the closer you slide it to the window pivot point the wider the window will open.

The disadvantages are: they aren't always to hand as the wire clips are & have to be removed to close the window, meaning they can easily be misplaced.

Those things _kick_ _arse_.

To save 'em getting misplaced, I "clip 'em onto" the vent-flap "shelf" bit of the dash. Doesn't take a lot of practice, and you can fit 'em single-handed whilst driving - and, best of all, it's very easy to slide 'em up and down the door to adjust how far open the window's held.

Whoever came up with the idea is truly a god amongst men.

Same here, although I've never had any of these injuries people mention by leaving it resting on my arm, it's second nature to a 2cv driver surely?
