My dad had a similar thing on his 2cv- except it was a recycled bomb release switch from an RAF Canberra!
How do you prevent the car from being stolen if you have one of those?

Use it for it's original purpose [connect it to a bomb under the car]

.....seriously,I guess it would'nt be too tricky to wire an alarm in with a simple concealed "on-off" switch .... or just a concealed switch to "earth" the live feed wire to the coil.
