Thanks. I'll try the local Cit dealer as a start then. They are fairly 'old skool' and have previously been pretty helpful with my strange historical requests (decals for an AXGT5, random BX stuff, Visa bits etc) so hopefully they can help.

Out of my own curiosity, wasn't the RP number changed daily? or am I thinking of something else? can the Cit dealer find the key number from the chassis number (I assume on the V5?)

Should be able to be done from the V5 and chassis number yes.

Marky D was good enough to sort keys for my old CX GtiTurbo when i was silly enough to snap the ignition key.

Although am i right in saying Mark no longer works for citroen dealers?

You'll still need your driving licence and/or passport to prove that you are the person who's name appears on the log book.

My dad had a similar thing on his 2cv- except it was a recycled bomb release switch from an RAF Canberra!

How do you prevent the car from being stolen if you have one of those?

 Use it for it's original purpose [connect it to a bomb under the car] .....OK,so the car aint gonna be much use afterwards, but neither is the toerag who was gonna nick it.
Nahhhh ;) .....seriously,I guess it would'nt be too tricky to wire an alarm in with a simple concealed "on-off" switch .... or just a concealed switch to "earth" the live feed wire to the coil.
