It is a refuge for old blokes. Don't you go encouraging all these young people to come along to a relaxing laid back weekend with really nice dutch folk, with brilliant atmosphere, great company and cracking cars. No you wouldn't like it at all. The music spreading slowly accross the campsite was areal laugh last year as well. But you wouldn't like it. If I were you I would stay at home and read a book about cars.

I can almost taste the chips and mayo.

But you wouldn't like it.... Honest !

Right. I've circled the calender to attend this year's Waggel meeting. As has been mentioned, the International meeting is at Salbris, France, next year, so it's Holland this year. It's a great shame both the Waggel and the French National appear to be taking place over the same weekend but never mind. I'm looking forward to it. :)

Post Re: Waggel 2010
if i may shine a light on how Waggel has been, and hopefully will be for a long time.....

I am born 2cv driver, (mum n dad) waggel was my frist meeting when i was just born, i am 32 now, and i missed only one in all those years.

Waggel is a real Family meeting. So, there is noise all day, sleeptime all night, noise the next day. It all about being together, having fun, meeting old friends and making new ones.

There are numerous meetings that are about fast cars and making noise all night, been there, done that, still doing that.

So, since i have kids, and yes, even before i had, we do like to have fun during the night, but like to sleep if we want to. And even though i am most likely to be one of the most noise dude around, i really value my rest, and the rest of my kids......

I hope nobody takes this the wrong way, i am just trying to make sure what this meeting is about.

i welcome all, it's just that sometimes, well, some figures seem not to understand that it is for all ages this little thing, and that is a little discomforting to me, and many others.

that is why i tried to explain. it's just, well, for all to be fun, and not to be messed up by a few, right?

really, i do welcome all, but behave

Spookend

For a couple of years I camped at one of the countries leading folk festivals but juvenile 'fun' of teenagers screaming and shouting through the night until 4am ruined many campers nights sleep. Never again. I sleep badly enough as it is 12.5mm above the ground let alone the aggrevation of that sort of thing. The following mornings, the area around their small circle of tents was trashed with litter and empty bottles. It's B&B should I ever return.
