Are they very similar or are they like chalk and cheese, or calcaire et fromage? We are roughly equidistance twixt the two. We can't make up our minds as both seem good. So I guess nobody knows? We do know actually. The French national is big - since 1998 it's been attracting upwards of 1500 vehicles annually, and has very much the same 'feel' as a World meeting in size and atmosphere. If you like the party and pace of a big event, then this is the one for you. By contrast, the Waggel meeting is a lot smaller, think around the size of the 2cvgb international meeting, maybe two or three hundred cars tops. The atmosphere is pretty laid back in traditional Dutch style and they are always very welcoming to us brits and in fact anyone who turns up to it. If you are after something a bit less frenzied, then go for Waggel. HTH

Paul, if you like to queue for hours and enjoy organised chaos, then it's the French National every-time If you enjoy something a little more restrained(and I do mean "a little"), then it's Waggel(at least that's how I perceived it last year, which was my first Waggel Meeting). Seriously though, do the French National this year, it is after all the home of the 2cv.

 Re: French National 2010
Thanks, most helpful. As a people, I like the Dutch a lot but the French event sounds tempting even though I loath queueing and chaos. Hmmm....

 Re: French National 2010
I wouldn't call the French national chaotic, and the only time you have to queue is getting in the first day but that's all part of the atmosphere. I've been to worse organised meeting by a long way! There's always something going on and always somebody having fun, but it's far from chaos!

 Re: French National 2010
I booked the whole week off, doesn't seem much point going in Monday! Probably wouldn't hurt to get the 17th off too.
