Hi Rob, You can probably open the bonnet without removing the A panel. I sometimes have to do mine too as the cable goes wrong. I do it with a screwdriver near the actual catch above the grille. I might be able to send you a photo if you like? |

Thanks Ian, feel free to show how you get the bonnet released. I managed to pop it eventually, very rusty to reveal an engine and box amongst the spiders. Haven't turned it yet, been busy putting up another tent to house it in, will show the progress when it stops raining The Dyane has gone to Pete Sparrow's for a recon gearbox etc.,so the Landrover is now the primary vehicle, regularly doing 30 + miles a day as I have a part time job working with a tree surgeon; can't stay away from a chainsaw |

It is almost the same tent we took to Hungary, to keep our stuff until the garage was build. The garage was not completely finished, no doors, no windows, but the main stuff was already in the garage . When a strong winnd blew our tent in piieces. It is a nice workplace that tent, see if you can fit a woodburning stove. |

The space is great inside it, I'm sure I can fill it up with my junk. It's in a sheltered spot but we'll have to see how it copes with the Welsh weather. I'm thinking of using the Charleston chassis and running gear under the bodyshell. It doesn't need to have the big springs, brake compensator etc. because I won't be carring 500kg. |

I think you don't gonna use the Charleston chassis. It, and all other A-series, has shorter wheelbase than Acadiane, 22cm difference... Couple photos about opening the hood from outside..: Like that, is the way to open the hood without cable connected. On my other Dyane, there isn't any opening cable, removed at -96 when repaired the chassis, didn't remember where I put the cable, rod and lever and never installed them back... |
