What dp you do when you've just sold you're pride and joy AZU250 because you need the space?

Easy, buy another car!

Thanks to Matt Smith having a bit of a purge and advertising some cars on here-I've ended up the very happy owner of "Poppy".

It's a strange car, the chassis is damn near immaculate along with the rear inner arches, C posts, sills and windscreen surround (inner and outer) and bulkhead where the spare wheel sits. I've got to get the welder out later today to repair the front floors just where they meet the bulkhead and that's about it!

It had been in Matts shed for about 4 or 5 years as I understand it so I checked it had oil and turned over okay etc and stuck a battery on it-she started within about 15 seconds of cranking an settled down to a lovely smooth tickover within about a minute or so!

Of course, not everything is such plain sailing, the tyres are knackered and Matt's nicked the exhaust off it and there's no front bumper or number plate but hey ho-I can live with that lot.

As the tax is up on the BX on Thursday, the plan is to have the Dyane on the road by Friday-so watch this space.............

Lucky you! Nice pictures. What's with the "thing" between the cars? Is it something that lets you tow a car with no brakes? How does it work?

Ya, I spotted it too. Seen them down under, where they are called A frame. The front is "normal" trailer bits, the rear is (on the Australians) a simple cross plate with 2 holes, where the 2 engine mount bolts are bolted through. Maybe the UK frames have another design. It very clever whoever invented it.

The type in use on Spanner's Dyane has rounded ends welded on and fit round the front on the suspension arms, quite a clever solution, they are secured with ratchetted cord belting(whatever it's called  ) Hope that helps..
