Finally, some pictures...this is my 2CV AK 400 which was an ambulance earlier. I had a hard time purchasing it, since the owners were a Christian missionary hospital and they had to take permission from Rome!

I have converted it into a mobile cafe, which can turn out a good cup of home-grown coffee, besides freshly baked cookies from the oven! There is music, aroma, taste and beauty...to stimulate all 5 senses of the body. I will send you some interior pics later. The car and the coffee story were featured on a car programme on BBC a couple of years back.

I am presently working on a home-made roaster which will run on gas, and the car's battery.

The present pictures show the car in the heart of the forest, where tigers and elephants roam. This is where I stay, and have my plantation, and this is where the car resides.

Cheers!

Steve

Hi Steven, congratulations on managing to get your hands on the van & turn it into something so nice.

Are there many A-series Citroens in your neck of the woods?

Welcome to the forum & Happy Birthday! ;)

Hi Neil,

Thanks for your post and good wishes. Well, these cars are extremely rare here, and I'm one of a few people who owns one.

With regards,

Steve

Hi Steven. That's an interesting story and pictures! Is your van right hand drive?

Hi Russell and Jono,

Thanks for your messages and good wishes on my Birthday! Yes, the van is a right-hand-drive. Interesting, I have another 2 2cv saloon which was left hand drive, but has been converted to right, by my mechanic, by opening the steering box, and exchanging positions of the mechanicals. The car is being painted right now.

Hi, it's great to hear a story thats so different to us in the UK. The van looks really nice, and I bet it's perfectly suited to the Indian countryside.

Hi Steven, an ambulance then a mobile cafe - excellent!! Maybe there's an idea for another thread - "Unusual uses for a 2CV?". I can't start it obviously 'cos it's not my car, but maybe you, Russ or Neil could?
