Hi everyone, this is my '86 2CV D*lly which I have owned for about a month. It had been owned by a lady in my road for the last 10 years but unfortunately the car became unreliable and difficult to start over the winter and her husband who used to do all the work and servicing on it had become ill and couldn't work on the D*lly anymore. So I ended up buying it for £350 with eight months MOT and six months tax. Happy days!
A new pair of spark plugs and a new battery have vastly improved the starting, it is only difficult to start when it's been left for more than a few days. There are a few jobs to be done on it though. It is still on its original chassis, which thankfully seems sound, although the front floors have been plated for the MoT and are rusting through again, also the clutch is a bit fierce when the engine is cold and it has started graunching into 1st and reverse. I'm guessing this means I need a new clutch? Also the brakes, although powerful, groan a bit under heavy braking, and the windscreen has a nice big chip right in the drivers field of vision. It is also delaminating around the edges.

for the 1987 Bamboo they had at the time. I've always fancied one, and every morning I heard that little 2CV come buzzing past my window - it always seemed very reliable. When I saw it for sale I suspected it had failed the MOT, but when I established it had loads of tax and MOT I bought it straight away, I thought it wouldn't be hanging around long at that price!
