It would cut sheet metal costs anyway - you could just pick them up from greasy spoons on your travels.

Yeah, every time I break down in a services, grab some spoons, if I get lucky they'll be stainless and it'll never rust again!

Just taken it up the road, with the turned arms it's actually the best handling car on earth now (bar none) and although it has no exhaust it seems to go ok, no sign of any leaks yet! Cheers to ECAS 2cv parts for the braided hoses, no more rotten and fractured steel ones for me! Hopefully it'll get finished properly and an exhaust made for it this week, then, MoT time!

Took it to work for the first time in ages today, shit the bed, does it handle well! maybe it's partly because I'm used to the golf which doesnt handle at all, but the bamboo is just like an old mini, you can throw it as hard as you like at any corner and it just turns in and goes round, its great! Only problem is I've not really discovered its limits yet, and Ive really been caning it, so i assume when i do find out where the limit is, I'll be going too fast and I'll be killed to death.

Hi Russ, what are your thoughts on the chopped crossbox, good thing/bad thing? I've got a new one to pick up tomorrow, having trashed the old one, but I think I'm going to cut it up before it goes on.
