   |   Re: AZL 1957Why you had to say that......problem still there . Took a few old carbs apart and found there are different lengths of float needles and different hight of floats. So i did choose a lower model float hope it will raise the fuel level in the float chamber. Well on to the next test.

   |   Re: AZL 1957isn't it time to do the old Swiss trick. Strapping a canister of petrol to the front windscreen and put the petrol directly to the carb. Eleminating all hoses, tank pump ect.... _________________

   |   Re: AZL 1957Problem getting worse and worse. I had to look deeper than the fuel system. After 4 times taking it apart the problem kept re-appearing. So today i took the ignition apart. And yes there was a wrong condensor in. There was a smal 12v type mounted. It might be that this little thing couldn't cope with the 6volt sparks. The original 6 volt versions are double size. Complete new points in and sure there was no contact anymore. Took them out again and found that the NOS set contacts were slightly oxydized thus preventing contact. It was the last set the carpart firm had on stock. After cleaning a perfect start again and the test drive seemed ok too. So hope it will stay ok now longer than 1 test drive

   |   Re: AZL 1957Yes it runs very well now, but not so fast today due to the heavy head winds...

Do you put the biggest flat screwdriver you've got between the tooth of the flywheel and the engine-casing and then torq the nut with a wrench as hard as you can?? shouldn't come loose then.._________________

   |   Re: AZL 1957I do mine up just against the compression and, so far, never had it come loose. Undoes with sharp bang on the rachet with flat of hand, again no need to jam the screw driver in the flywheel... Do lather taper in copper slip as well which might give it more grip, or not. Is this with a fan pulley or not? _________________
