Thats 2cv Russel, Ami 6 of this age, are of good quality steel, I bet it isn´t rusted at all at the inside at, see who wins.

Im not getting into this fight  but it would be rude not to at least carefully peel off the top to see what gives?

Well without quoting too much but of Russell and Ipgo's prevous replies.
That's what will happen then :D

Next question and I keep asking them sorry Guys!
Are the floors toeboards sills the same as Ami 8 ones , or at least easily adaptable?
Cos all of the above are off the shelf for Ami 8 but not for 6 in this country via Ecas.
How good are Ecas on panels ? Pricewise, qualitywise? Im used to paying scenetax on VW stuff remember

Oh and on the bright side.

Front and back seats are faded but have no Tears in them.
All the inner Door panels are in the Boot and complete.
...and as said it runs.

All in all not bad for a £300 project car.

There's no more m4 engines that I could see. Only the one in that car.

The Ami 8 floors and sills should be adaptable. The 8 had pendant pedals and a slightly different shape to the bulkhead but I think you'd be able to use the lower 8 bulkhead and make some mods to fit, but as your car has pendant brake and clutch pedals then that's less to worry about.

I've just run the chassis number through my records and its a 1967 model year - which runs from 1st September 1966 - 31st Aug 1967. Check the wiring as Citroen used a really crap insulator covering on the wiring from 1965 - 1967 which has a habit of disintegrating leading to all sorts of fun and games.

If your car is a '67 then its deffo had the wrong rear lights fitted at sometime in its past. No evidence of a rear end bump is there?

I can't understand why this car was parked up for so long, it looked a sweet little thing...madness.

Thanks for the info Matt that sort of thing is really helpful to me, I have no idea if it has had a bump at this point but I am sure it will make itself evident if thats the case.

I like the back panel as it is and since it is solid and well fitted i have no intention of replacing it.
If you look inside the back doors st the hinges/checkstraps it looks like it was or parts of it were red at some stage too.
The roof looks like it has been rollered with house gloss and where it is flaking there is evidence of it being light yellow/cream
I see these bits as telling a story of the car, the roof I am going to gently strip and see how much yellow is there and it it will come back, I am quite tempted to stick with the blue colour though on the rest sympatheticly blowing in any new Panels and repairs when they are repaired.
I like to keep the history of the car as much as I can and i like things like the trim not being crisp and new, the paint being a bit flat here and there.
It shows a vehicle that has been enjoyed to me It keeps some of its history, another thing I like is for old cars to smell like old cars.
So the main thing is to get the worst bits as good as the current best bits.

I want it to have the air of a well looked after car but not a resto if that makes sense?

Rewire or at least a good check through is on the cards too, I have no idea what has been chewing away at it whilst parked up.
Brakes also will be refurbed it goes without saying.

Re the rear lights, the units are quite easy to swap over, strangely the yoghurt pot earlier ones are harder to find so you'll probably be able to track the later ones down no bother.

On the Ami 6 Saloon, sometimes the roof was left unpainted just the bear gelcoat a bit like the larger Citroen ID and so the inside would glow on a sunny day :D.

Is there a round disc riveted to the bulkhead anywhere with a 3 digit number starting with AC? This will be the Paint code and will tell you the original colour the car was.
