For an MoT you only need one side mirror and one interior mirror, as I understand it?

Drivers side and either the nearside or the middle. I had a look at shifting the nearside one over but it looks a bit fragile too.

I'd just put the passenger one upside down on the driver's side for now. Looks a bit odd, but works fine. Shouldn't be fragile - that's a proper one IIRC.

You have to take the interior door panels off a Dyane to change the mirrors, as there's a metal trianglular bracket inside the door that the mirror bolts through. It will drop down into the bottom of the door once the mirror's been unbolted, and so needs holding in place when bolting the new mirror on.

Yes I found this out... took the old one off and heard a thunk noise as something fell! managed to sort it but as per the pics jono it looks ridiculous! I think at some point I either need to get a van one for the passenger side or a smaller one for the drivers side!

I'd just like to point out that the ridiculous mirror that Pete's referring to isn't the one I'd got lined up for it, but in fact it's a new long arm one!

To be fair, I think they are right in saying that the long arm one is the only right hand mirror available new nowadays.

Yes they've even fitted it to their show car. I don't mind it, it just looks a wee bit silly having a short one on the nearside and a long one on the offside. I'll survive though I'm sure! :D

Umm,
out of interest, is the glass in that van mirror flat or slightly convex? ;)
