To get round the problem of the spring cans hitting the floor and denting which happens with low cars, (and prevents the springs from moving properly) I've cut them away and left them open, although this will require more cleaning out and greasing regularly I can live with that.

because the front and rear are no longer connected, the rubber doughnut (mmmm, doughnuts...) is compressed, this isn't ideal but as soon as I can get a full set of the aluminium solid mounts found on vans or AmiSupers I'll replace them.

Not tempted to weld a strap between the two ends? Like that channeled one in dunkerque?

10 Hours from mine to derby. In one go, none of this 'stints' lark! Only stopping for juice, tasty hitchikers and Neil.

So, last weekend neil and I accidentally wrecked the Slamboo in an ill advised trip to Wales.

This weekend is all about repairing it.

So far:

Broken engine out..

Image

Broken gearbox out...

Which revealed the wales-damaged undertray...

Image

Wales did this to my exhaust too...

Here's the bottom of the chassis...

front arms off....

TBC
