Post Re: 1968 Ami Club Break
car is looking good :)

i like the blue and white actually!

my fuel gauge when the tank is absolutly full the gauge reads nothing, and not nothing as in on the 0 position as in the position its in when the ignition is off.. i call this position fuc*ing full...

i put my 12disc cd changer in the boot, and my cd player on the dash on top, not screwed down or anything so if i park somewhere dodgy i just take it with me :D

so the theory goes..

i got the cd player and changer free from my next door neighbour who was going to fit it in his 2cv but never got round to it..

Just bought some "new" seats for the Ami.
The ones that are now in the car are in a quite bad state. First plan was to buy some seat covers at Halfords orso.
Another option was buying expensive new upholstery, and refurbish the seats. Now just put the new seats in, and I'm done!
Yesterday a guy placed an advert on the Dutch eBay, in wich he adverts his black Ami seats.
Made him an offer and he accepted it ;)
Need to pick them up, maybe next week.

Nice! I think they will make the car feel a little more positive to drive. Driving mine feels strange, because although it now has a lot of grip, it's hard to really feel what's happening as you roll about in the collapsing bench seat.

You will have to report back as I'm curious to know how the car feels on new seats.

Current seats (yes, no bench) are not collapsed, just have bad upholstery. Only downside from the new seats is that they are black.. So hot in summer ;)

And the car is worth a few quid more ;)

Post Re: 1968 Ami Club Break
worked on the Ami today.
Seats still aren't in the car, because the new seats use the slidingsystem like a 2cv. My Ami has a different system. At my parents house I should have some rails for these seats.

Did the heatingsystem today. The valves in the heatexchanger were not on the right place, so there was always hot air coming in the car, even with the leaver on cold.
Refit the cables and valves so now there is cold air and hot air!

Also changed the gearleaver, cause the rubber bush in the tube was worn. Very hard to select 4th gear. Now with the new one it's changes gears real nice. Also some sqeaky noises are gone.
After that I adjusted the bonnet catch to close the bonnet more easy. First I was struggling to close the bonnet.

After that fitted a (blue) doorcard on the right front door and cleaned the dash with dashboard cleaner.. It looks real nice now

Little things like that do seem to make such a positive difference to the car.

Didn't look for a nice one for the left front door, the one in the car is in bad condition. Maybe tomorrow..

Came across this picture:

Anyone knows wich colours are this? I'm guessing jaune mimosa and blue delta?

I'm still thinking in wich colour i want to paint the car. Or Sombre looks great, but can't find a colour that matches it. The picture above looks nice, but then I want to get a faded look on the lettering... So then I need to find out how to do that...
If I paint the car like this, it's getting only lettering on the door. Think it will look bad with the lettering "Citroen Assistenza Tecnica" on the rear fender and door.

Difficult...
