Ahhhh, I see what you mean James that is a narrow garage, Austin 7 size. Love those seats, makes the interior a bit posh.

Yeah, red would make it really stand out.

Leave it alone.

Post Re: 1988 2cv D*lly bits and bobs
Well,
Ive just had the rear panel on the car re sprayed :D
its white not red ;)

Why?
Bit of surface superficial rust, so had my mate whos a panel beater see to it, will take a picture tomorow when its not dark, but its certainly better than what i did a year and half back at the beginning of the thread,
Since working in my job, ive disovered a thing called wet and dry, Well, I knew about wet and dry obviously, but the difference is, I now, Understand wet and dry, how it works, and about the grades.
At work we have every grade ranging from 240 right to 1200,
I wish I knew more about wet and dry before, as the amount of fuck ups ive done because the sand paper said a number, and it didnt mean anything  I suppose thats more stupidity than anything,

So where is my ranting heading? No where really,
Ive just aqquired some adventure bars for the car, which at some point have been duluxe painted, over the original black paint, I supose I can offload my pointless prattle-ing onto this topic, with my new found "talent" with wet and dry (I do some really tricky repairs on boats at work, if your really interested i'll post some pics, if not, onwards) I can now succesfully do a good job with painting.
What I cant decide, is what colour, I'm drawn towards black, as I have only every seen them black, and I suppose anything else apart from black or white wouldnt look right, but has anyone got any pics of them a different colour?

Another update with the car, is ive spent some time waxoyling it. I'm blessed to own a car that was waxoyled from new, so its already got a nice film of it on.
I've been using a parrafin gun to apply the waxoyl underneath, and attemping to apply it in the box sections, such as the sills etc, which has been pretty, well, to be frank pretty shit.
The parrafin gun is amazing when it comes around to applying it to flat exteria surfaces. I've done 2 layers on the floors underneath now (over the existing layers,) and 1 layer on the N/S inner rear wing.
Ive also done a nice thick layer on the lower bulkhead, and attempted to fill N/S sill, but failed I think.

I've bought some of this, to do the box sections with.

From what I have read, that stuff seems pretty good. I geuss a few good layers of that stuff should do the trick. If you look at the info about it, it gives a picture of the spray pattern, which is ideal for how it needs to be, so I geuss 3 -4 coats is ideal.

So far, ive thought of, the sills, the front to board, A, B and C pillars, the rear light panel, and around the windscreen.
Im sure this has been discussed before, but where are the major injection points?
I noticed the injection point for the sills is in the middle underneath the car, which is nice and accesible

What a load of blabbering shit ive written,

Did some more serious waxoyling im going to do one more layer ive done 3 on the floors, and one on the toeboard, rear inner wings.
So the toeboard will get another thick layer, as will the rear wings
Ive also made sure there is a thick layer where the body touches the foam, to make sure no water can get there!!!!

Right
Update
The car is showing a tiny few rough spots, starting to show its been used every day,
On the gutter bit on the offside in the middle is starting to rust
Where there is a lip in the middle of the car above the guter bit
Is this usual?
I think once ive got some monies i will get my friend whos a panel beater to sort it out, hemlooks after me and gives me a good deal so shouldnt cost too much, but itll more than likely be the new year before i can afford that!

Ive just bought a yamaha MS50e, why? I have always regretted selling my bike, cheap insurence, fuel consumption and the such are so appealing, so i bought another one after nearly 2 years off two wheels.
I seem to never get time to do bits to my car, e.g oil pipes need doing, and i could do them in a day, but whilst i have cowling off id like to fiddle and paint them, etc, so it takes the pressure off doing it too..
So really i think ill take the car off the road for a month or three, just to tart it up a birt!
And once ive done that, probably spring..!! Ill do the bike up,
So the bikes sort of a winter hack, which seems a shame, but id rarher rebuild / restore the bike than the car in a few years ;)
Incidently when my mum qualified as a doctor in the 80's she used to do her call outs one one of those!
So that aside, should i attend to the small bit of rust?
Its not that bad, i took some pictures, but on the ipad at the mo sk cant post them, but i will later
