Re: 1988 2cv D*lly bits and bobs
Well,
Ive just had the rear panel on the car re sprayed

its white not red

Why?
Bit of surface superficial rust, so had my mate whos a panel beater see to it, will take a picture tomorow when its not dark, but its certainly better than what i did a year and half back at the beginning of the thread,
Since working in my job, ive disovered a thing called wet and dry, Well, I knew about wet and dry obviously, but the difference is, I now, Understand wet and dry, how it works, and about the grades.
At work we have every grade ranging from 240 right to 1200,
I wish I knew more about wet and dry before, as the amount of fuck ups ive done because the sand paper said a number, and it didnt mean anything

I suppose thats more stupidity than anything,
So where is my ranting heading? No where really,
Ive just aqquired some adventure bars for the car, which at some point have been duluxe painted, over the original black paint, I supose I can offload my pointless prattle-ing onto this topic, with my new found "talent" with wet and dry (I do some really tricky repairs on boats at work, if your really interested i'll post some pics, if not, onwards) I can now succesfully do a good job with painting.
What I cant decide, is what colour, I'm drawn towards black, as I have only every seen them black, and I suppose anything else apart from black or white wouldnt look right, but has anyone got any pics of them a different colour?
Another update with the car, is ive spent some time waxoyling it. I'm blessed to own a car that was waxoyled from new, so its already got a nice film of it on.
I've been using a parrafin gun to apply the waxoyl underneath, and attemping to apply it in the box sections, such as the sills etc, which has been pretty, well, to be frank pretty shit.
The parrafin gun is amazing when it comes around to applying it to flat exteria surfaces. I've done 2 layers on the floors underneath now (over the existing layers,) and 1 layer on the N/S inner rear wing.
Ive also done a nice thick layer on the lower bulkhead, and attempted to fill N/S sill, but failed I think.
I've bought some of this, to do the box sections with.
http://www.bilthamber.com/pro-introduct ... ynax%20S50From what I have read, that stuff seems pretty good. I geuss a few good layers of that stuff should do the trick. If you look at the info about it, it gives a picture of the spray pattern, which is ideal for how it needs to be, so I geuss 3 -4 coats is ideal.
So far, ive thought of, the sills, the front to board, A, B and C pillars, the rear light panel, and around the windscreen.
Im sure this has been discussed before, but where are the major injection points?
I noticed the injection point for the sills is in the middle underneath the car, which is nice and accesible
What a load of blabbering shit ive written,
