 Re: My 2cv
Was good to meet you Gaz, nice car you've got and was a good two car convoy out of Hereford (till you turned off ) Got some Michelin 135 ZXs on order from ECAS via Peter Cross, I'll pop round tomorrow afternoon and have them fitted and get the tracking/camber looked at.

 Re: My 2cv
Been having issues with the lighting switch, it's been very sporadic with dip-beam and I've recently been having to use main-beam and turn the head-lamps down. It got to such a state yesterday that I tried to remove the switch to dismantle it and see if I could clean it up or something, but my toolbox is pretty shite and I couldn't even find the right size spanner to remove it from the steering-column!! So I thought of spraying WD40 into the workings, and.......It works!!! And 'feels' better than before, when turning the switch off/on.

 Re: My 2cv
Been sat here all morning so I'm going to get the 2CV out and go for a drive. I quite fancy northern Scotland, but money and time constraints are tight, so I'll just end up somewhere in the Cotswolds or Malvern Hills

 Re: My 2cv
Just returned from a fabulous drive out in the 2CV. I took the A449 to Ombersley, turned off there and headed down the hill and over the river Severn to Holt Heath and along the A443 to Great Witley. From there I turned south on the B4197 to Martley and down Ankerdine Hill (seriously steep) to Knightwick. From there I took to some country lanes via Suckley and Stifford's Bridge and turned right onto the A4103 for a very short distance, turning off left at Storridge and headed for Great Malvern on the B4219/A449. Once in Malvern I turned south as far as Malvern Wells and took the B4209 and B4211 to Upton-Upon-Severn. From Upton I headed back west along the A4104 and turned off onto the B4211 at Tunnel Hill under the M50 via Longdon to the A438 and turned left to The Mythe Bridge at Tewksbury. Once I crossed the bridge I headed north on the A38 and detoured to Twyning and spent a short time by the river. From there I continued north on the A38 to Severn Stoke and turned off to the right and hit some more country lanes past Croome Court to Stoulton on the B4084 Worcester to Pershore road and headed back home via J7 to J6 of the M5. Total miles=68, Total smiles=too many to count. I was parked up on a village green taking a stretch, and a couple came over to admire the car - They had owned a 2CV in the past and seeing mine had brought back good memories (so much so, they now wish they still owned one ).

 Re: My 2cv
What a fantastic, glorious day!! Shame I'm working this afternoon , but I've already got the 2CV out, the hood is open and I'm looking forward to a slightly longer drive to work .......About 20miles further than normal.

 Re: My 2cv
Been having issues with dip-beam for some time now, it's recently got worse so I took the car over to Peter Cross earlier and after some fiddling around, found it was a bad connection on the bulkhead mounted relay. The lighting switch was in a bad way anyway (it's been super glued together), so I've had a fairly decent second-hand unit fitted, so hopefully the lights won't go out now

 Re: My 2cv
Got the best part of a week off in a few weeks time, thinking of crossing La Manche and attending a small local weekend French meeting on the 9/10th. There are two possible events that weekend, one not too far from Calais, the other is near Nantes. Will decide what to do nearer the time.....May just decide to go to Scotland.lol

 Re: My 2cv
Going to tackle the dip-beam issue I'm having on the 2CV tomorrow. It's definitely the relay on the bulkhead that is the culprit, as I've been out this evening in the car and I had the problem resurface , when I disturbed the relay and associated wiring the lights came back on. Other than that, the car is driving superbly atm, it's been a very pleasurable evening pootle. Watch this space and I'll keep you all informed on how I get on with the lights.......Wish me luck
