Ha-ha! For me, the best thing to do is walk away after the welding and then come back and do the dressing another day... and that's exactly what I did today. Blimey, those flap wheels are great!

Didn't have time for photos, unfortunately. Also made a tit of myself by painting the exterior bulkhead and then realising that I still needed to do some welding on the interior... which totally messed up the painting on the exterior! Duh. I'll get it right one day. Possibly.

Bit lumpy, but what the hey, it won't be visible and it's as solid as a rock, which is more important.

Also stripped off the paint from one of the inside side panels to expose and treat all the pesky little rust worms. Sanded to bare metal then gave it a coat of Fertan.

Lumpy, but much better ! :)
Your pictures bring back sweet memories 8-)
But it is also nice to drive in it ! Which i am doing now as often as possible .
I was very tempted to buy an AK 400 that was advertised here in NL lately with a lot of work, but my wife insisted that we finished the AZ first , before buying some more old junk . :?

Ha! Buying up old pieces of junk is a bit like having kids. Acquiring them is the (relatively) easy bit. The subsequent project is much more difficult and time consuming!

Acruiring is the fun-bit, after that you sometimes have regrets ,but then you pull yourselve together and carry on . and you find that it costs ..... and you can't let it go...
