 Re: My old Blue Bamboo
(James2CV, are the crank 'nuts' different thread directions to stop them unwinding with use? Ie: one LH and t'other RH? Just thinking aloud - might answer why they're hard to remove.) I'm wasn't sure if Fred Dibnah died much too early - he seemed to have had pretty good innings to me. Then I checked his age - 56?! Christ! He looked a lot older... But, Dermont Morgan, now that's sad...

Hey Erik I'm only getting my own back. For years I thought my dad suffered from Tourette’s. Turns out he just thought I was a c*nt. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9R89oERKCaU&feature=related

 Re: My old Blue Bamboo
I reckon eBay is going to crash at around a quarter past eight tonight. As everyone on here keeps refreshing the page the see the last-minute bids come rolling in... So, bets, lads & lassies. What's it going to go for? (I can hear O-N groan...) Ok, best just wait and see. It would be just plain crass to try and reduce such a significant moment to a mere William-Hill event. And, it's faaaar more important that it goes to a good home, than fetch the max siller. Monetary value is not the same as the inherent soul that a car like that possesses. So please - everyone - keep your thoughts to yourselves. Thank you.

 Re: My old Blue Bamboo
There are currently 224 watchers. Is that a record I wonder? DA you better get set to kill someone then because I reckon it will go for around £4200-4300. That's what I expected anyway.
By casually mentioning the insurance only costs £100 per year in the add, and then planting the five grand agreed value figure subliminally, folks will automatically assume it worth only four or so, as agreed value for insurance is always higher figure than replacement cost.
Had I put 'agreed value of 6k' I could more or less have guaranteed 5k for it. I shudder to think what the actual replacement cost would be, how many hundreds of hours of unpaid labour did I do? The next bloke to do the same might want paying for it, which would mean a 7k insurance figure.

 Re: My old Blue Bamboo
Well, I'm very, very surprised. There will be multiple fatalities on Devon's streets... Undoubtedly a consolation, tho': I bet it's gone to a deserving owner, someone who truly appreciates what they have? Unlike the earlier Farlie - where the new owner (and the seller) will always be a massive twit...
