Use copper grease on the exhaust joints, seals first time, every time.

I've got special clapms from the Burton guys, they seal the entire exhaust flange.

They sell them as clamps that never leak.. In my case the manifold and first damper dont line up, so it's hard to get the flanges together.

Have some other heat exchangers, will check if they fitt better. Otherwise I have to undo the bottom clamp (first to second damper), so the first damper has more movement.
I just quick fitted them today so I couls start the engine.

I always loosen the whole exhaust system, do each joint by hand first with loads of copper grease in them and when they're all hand tight do them up with spanners.

Did some work on the Ami today...
The engine places by Punky and me last time did run, but seemed to have a lack of compression, since I could pull the car, while in gear, easily forward without any problems...

So decided to swap the engine again for the one that was in the car before.
Hired a engine hoist today, to make it a lot easier for me to do it alone..

WIthin two hours the engines are swapped, incl the new clutch. Need to do the engine mounts, 123 ignition and other small bits, including the ultrasonic cleaned carb.
Hopefully the car is ready by tomorrow, but since it is F1 racing i wont be working the whole day on the car.
But what has to be done now isn´t much..

It works!

Starting can be better, as well as the stationairy revs.. Needs to check the tappets though.. Hopefully that helps.
Also need to sort out some of the electrical wires and taping them together..

But hey, did the first drive in 3 months with the car... Only 500 meters or so.
Brakes also need some more bleeding.

Last week I did the tappets and the starting problem is solved. The car now also does run idle..
after that a charging problem had to be solved (forgot how the wiring was connected), but got that working yesterday.
All that had to be done today was adjust the clutch cable, which i did this morging. Car now runs, starts and clutches (almost) perfect. Next week I'm gonna use the car for the daily drive to work, checking everything is well :)

Finally put the Salbris sticker, and some other random stickers, on the car :)

Car works quite well.. Made it to Salbris and back without any problems.
So now it is time to get the car fully painted in blue en yellow. Only delayed by a year orso.
I now have a garage so I can put the car inside to paint the body.

Hopefully done with a week or 2-3 (only time in the evenings and weekends, when it is light outside).

Look forward to seeing it in its new colours. Are you doing it in Citroen Service style?

Yes, something like this:

Only without the logo and text on the side.
I'll start with a big citroen logo (just the chevrons) on the roof.
