hardy wrote: Hey hang on there everyone is this a 2cv forum? Or are you showing your true colours drooling over these modern rubbish speed machines? I thought there was something almost holy about this site and now i think i may have been wrong. I see that some of you in our congregation have submitted to lust and temptation and unbelievably you even post photos of your perversions..........it should be banned AND ye, ye sinners should be cast out of the temple by our dear Mod. And not only do you post pictures, you shamefully tell filthy jokes for all us innocents to read and be corrupted by so that we may fall into hell with you. Oh Lord save us from this wicked thread and may Mods wrath descend upon you all. Well it is Sunday He does have a point.

Aw c'mon, gents. Hardy has a 'point' just as far as individual readers want to take it. I think - but may, of course be completely wrong - that he was being sarcy. And ironic. And funny. And witty.

Thank f*ck I'm sellin' it then. To be fair Old Nail, it is a 2CV forum, I doubt there's many people on here that really want to hear why 2CVs are shit and a Chrysler Crossfire would be a better buy! Perhaps the off topic thread would be a better place to discuss that sort of thing? And that's certainly not coming from a "rod up their ass" type, I don't even run an A-series as previously mentioned.....

Perhaps the off topic thread would be a better place to discuss that sort of thing? Point taken and accepted mate. The thing is I find it quite astonishing. In any group of disparate people there will always be differences of opinion, clashes even. To form a club based around one common denominator is always an odd thing to do I think. Why not have a club for people who wear brown shoes? Or an ‘International nose-hair friends’ forum, because it’s that same tenuous link that supposedly binds us all here. I have absolutely no doubt that many of us would never think to share a minute of the day with one another had it not been for a common interest in an old car – the 2cv. Owning that car or liking it doesn’t make us all the same, we’re still as different as tits and Tupperware. I thought that was a good thing. I would no more consider a man in brown shoes to be intrinsically good or bad because he wore them yet here we are, supposedly all mates together. As in real-life you have the genuine characters, and the not so genuine. Those types that have more about them than merely talking shop (or shoes) are often the source of light relief from the many stale, subject related posts. This sometimes puts others in a funk. I don’t know why, because you can bet those very people who object to your straying wide of the mark will be the first to trumpet their all-inclusive liberal diversity credentials in real-life. It’s baffling. What I find equally curious is that a thread that has attracted almost 17.500 hits is then criticised in this prissy manner. “He has a point” my arse! It takes a 15-year old to point out the obvious, go click on one of the banal threads if you don’t like it. But of course I can’t say that can I? After all this isn’t my forum. It’s not up to me what is allowed or not allowed. This forum is here to show how not-narrow-minded and blinkered we are over here by comparison, wasn’t that the idea? Nice to see its working. I know you can’t always please everyone, and you’d be a fool to try, but sniffing at posts because they don’t meet a narrow criteria is just plain sad. Even those chaps in brown shoes would agree. It seems that once again I've outgrown my confines, and I accept that's nobody's fault but mine. Now if you'll excuse me I'll leave you to talk 2cv's - I've got stuff to do.

 Re: My old Blue Bamboo
Beware my friends it is the rod of the lord that shall smitten thee and cast thee unto hell. And on a further ecclesiastical note may i seek your advice? You may have heard today that gay marriage is to be sanctified by the church. Well i have a problem. Not with that but something much more personal. I am a 67 year old man and i have recently met a beautiful young Bulgarian woman called Lolitta. We met three weeks ago at a lap dancing club in the docks area of Hastings where she is starring as Mamoiselle La Sensualle. She is only 21 but i love her and age as far as i am concerned makes no difference, I am sure she loves me. She is actually an heiress to a Bulgarian diamond dynasty but unfortunately has fallen on hard times. I have decided to marry her but unfortunately my local curate is being very obstinate and is not prepared to marry us. Their is very little guidance in this part of the world concerning these things so i turn to you my very wise and distinguished friends for any help and advice you can give. I have searched in the forums for a "ask Marjorie" thread but there is nothing(time for the mods to set one?). I am certain that at least some of you will have experienced a similar dilemma so any help you can give will be so welcome.
ps Lolitta sends love and kisses to all you older men.
