Thanks Dave. I have two more doors to do, the boot lid and windscreen frame. Im working on it as much as i can but i hope this time next month should see it done.






Might have to take some annual leave though, work just keeps getting in the way

What's the weight going to be like ,in comparison to what a 2cv engine normally has to lug . I'm sure you've taken it into account ,but it just looks quite heavy in the photos
Does look good, might upset some vw snobs though

Hope you take it to registers days this year, as it would definitely win modcon category

Ben, the weight should be lighter because it wont have any upper body panels, or glass, or roof, or interior trim, or rubber mats. At the moment it just seems really light to push along and much easier than a 2cv, so will have to see i guess.

Hope to be at Registers day with the Kubel.

Anyway done some more today.
Got the boot lid finished and fitted, making my own hinges and catches etc.






No more now until Wednesday because of work commitments.

Some more on the 'Kubel'.
Made and fitted the folding windscreen frame.
Fitted the hubcaps.
Fitted the hood fixing clips on the rear panel and today my mate Richard came over and made a start on the filler work on the front wings.
Soon have some paint on it i hope

Fitting the windscreen has really made it look better.
Looks like the finished article now.

Cheers Dave. Im pleased with how its turned out. It was a lot of work and made up of many different parts. Mirrors are off a Honda motorcycle, but seemed to look the part.
Gonna fit the ribbed mouldings next then paint (finally)

Started to fit the ribbed mouldings onto the sheet metalwork. By the time its paited it should look fairly close to the original pressed panels (i hope)



Soon be time for paint
